I’d like to use the mouse wheel over a closed composer selector to move to the next or previous option. This would let me change the model or effort setting without opening a menu.
For models, cycling would stay within the selected provider and account, follow the dropdown order—including favorites—and skip unavailable, legacy, or disabled options. It would work in both directions and wrap at the ends. Existing click and keyboard controls would still work.
I’ve built a local prototype for web and desktop. It limits rapid changes from trackpad scrolling and uses a brief directional label animation that respects reduced motion.
Would you approve this interaction for the model and effort controls? I’d port it to current upstream before preparing a PR.
The prototype also supports access mode. Should that be included? I’d like explicit agreement because incidental scrolling there could change permissions.
