Summary

Update RepoSyncRadar from .NET 11 RC1 to the shipping RC2 SDK and dependencies to pick up runtime and framework reliability fixes while preserving the current application behavior.

  • Pin SDK 11.0.100-rc.2.26504.105; align Microsoft.Extensions, Blazor, EF Core, and dotnet-ef with 11.0.0-rc.2.26504.105. Use the independently versioned WPF BlazorWebView package 11.0.0-rc.2.26505.5.
  • Synchronize third-party notices, source-build requirements, and contributor instructions. Teach the audit skill to distinguish shipping release metadata from earlier API-validation builds.
  • Keep Copilot SDK 1.0.21-preview.2, bundled Copilot runtime 1.0.97-2, C# 15, Runtime Async, and the existing MTP test configuration unchanged. No application API migration or database schema change was required.

Audit evidence and decisions:

Evidence Repository relevance and decision
Official announcement and linked RC2 area notes Read SDK, libraries, runtime, ASP.NET Core, EF Core, WPF, C#, MSBuild, NuGet, and MAUI notes; map changes to WPF/BlazorWebView, SQLite, tooling, and packaging.
Shipping release metadata, download notes, and exact NuGet nuspecs Use shipping 26504.105, not the earlier 26475.137 validation build in build-metadata.json. Core packages identify dotnet/dotnet commit 820230c386db5b0106c5430b3e5aee92a7826bf5; WPF WebView identifies MAUI commit d32b79928709cf53b671336dabd0caef5a679fc2.
Runtime Async current-task tracking, synchronized-await fix and tests, ConcurrentQueue fix and tests Runtime reliability improvements apply without app source changes; current-task tracking and queue correctness are relevant to asynchronous workflows and ToolAuditHook. No new synchronized-method behavior is introduced.
MSBuild glob matching and tests, C# union matching changes Existing SDK-style projects receive glob-evaluation improvements; existing preview-navigation union behavior remains covered by the test suite. No app-specific performance claim.
EF update ordering and tests, WPF clipboard fix and tests Adopt provider/runtime fixes through dependency updates. No schema rewrite is needed; the clipboard change affects reads, so it is not presented as a fix to the app's SetText-only integration.
ASP.NET Core and libraries API changes Removed validation interfaces, moved BasePath, Razor runtime compilation, device-bound sessions, and QuickGrid are not used here. CBOR, new cryptography APIs, and HTTP/2 concurrency tuning have no demonstrated app requirement, so no speculative integration was added. WebAssembly null-union parameter fixes are not claimed as WPF Hybrid benefits.
Learn summaries and SDK test-tooling changes Some Learn summaries predate RC2; prefer RC2 notes and actual diffs. The verbose-output timeout fix is upstream SDK test infrastructure, not a delivered MTP behavior change. Retain the current runner and timeout configuration.

Scope

  • App UI / workflow
  • Core services / data model
  • Copilot SDK / agent behavior
  • Preview / WebView2
  • Documentation / release readiness
  • Tests / tooling
  • Other: .NET SDK and framework dependency update; no intentional UI or workflow changes.

Validation

  • dotnet build RepoSyncRadar.sln -warnaserror -p:RestoreConfigFile=<temporary NuGet.Config> - passed, 0 warnings and 0 errors. The temporary restore configuration was necessary because the existing proxy did not yet contain RC2.
  • dotnet test RepoSyncRadar.sln --no-build --timeout 10m -- --filter-not-trait Category=Manual - passed all 1,505 tests, 0 failures and 0 skipped: App 770, Core 655, Integrations 55, WPF/WebView E2E 25.
  • Focused tests: existing native runtime hash/version probes passed in the full suite. dotnet ef migrations list --project src\RepoSyncRadar.Core\RepoSyncRadar.Core.csproj --startup-project src\RepoSyncRadar.Core\RepoSyncRadar.Core.csproj --context RadarDbContext --no-build - passed, all five migrations discovered. dotnet ef migrations has-pending-model-changes --project src\RepoSyncRadar.Core\RepoSyncRadar.Core.csproj --startup-project src\RepoSyncRadar.Core\RepoSyncRadar.Core.csproj --context RadarDbContext --no-build - passed, no pending model changes. git diff --check - passed.
  • N/A - no intentional UI/WebView behavior changes; automated development-build WPF/WebView smoke passed on Windows arm64. Manual screenshots and installed win-x64 package validation were not performed.

Restore details: normal dotnet restore RepoSyncRadar.sln failed with NU1102 because the configured azure-default proxy lacked RC2 and direct NuGet API connectivity was unavailable. Restore and dotnet tool restore then succeeded using a temporary source containing 62 exact RC2 packages downloaded from the official NuGet CDN, each SHA-512 checked against its response metadata. Exact-ID package source mapping restricted the fallback; other dependencies used the existing proxy/cache. No user, machine, or repository feed configuration was changed. The temporary feed, packages, configuration, and helper script were removed after validation. A fresh restore in this environment still requires RC2 availability on the approved proxy or the same verified temporary fallback.

Risk And Rollback

  • User impact: framework/runtime reliability updates and accurate dependency notices; no intended workflow, authentication, permission, billing, or persistence changes.
  • Operational risk: RC2 remains prerelease. Existing C# union, Runtime Async, native Copilot, SQLite, and development WPF/WebView behavior passed the suite. Installed-package trimming and win-x64 release startup were not validated here; existing packaging safeguards remain unchanged and installed-package validation is still required before distribution. Newly published packages may not yet be mirrored by all proxy feeds.
  • Rollback plan: revert this commit to restore the prior SDK, package/tool pins, notices, and documentation. No database rollback is required.

Release Notes

  • User-facing change
  • Internal-only change
  • No release note needed

Release note draft:

Upgrade the build SDK and framework dependencies to .NET 11 RC2, including the matching EF Core tooling and WPF BlazorWebView package. Preserve existing application behavior and synchronize dependency notices and source-build guidance.

Align EF tooling and third-party notices with the shipping RC2 versions, and distinguish release metadata from validation builds in the audit skill.

🔵 Needs a closer look

The framework-wide prerelease upgrade passed development validation, but installed win-x64 package startup and trimming remain unverified.
