The release images were built with the default docker driver, which produces an image only for the host architecture. Releases cut on an arm64 machine therefore published arm64-only images, which cannot run on amd64 hosts.

Build with a container-driver buildx builder and push a manifest covering linux/amd64 and linux/arm64. A multi-platform result cannot be loaded into the local image store, so the tagged image is now built and pushed in a single step.

For all changes, please confirm:

  • Is there a JIRA ticket associated with this PR? Is it referenced in the commit message?
  • Has your PR been rebased against the latest commit within the target branch (typically develop)?
  • Is your initial contribution a single, squashed commit?
  • Does gradlew build run cleanly?
  • Have you written or updated unit tests to verify your changes?
  • If adding new dependencies to the code, are these dependencies licensed in a way that is compatible for inclusion under ASF 2.0?
