Summary

Prepare ADServal/ADTimePix3 release R1-8-0:

• bump the driver version from 1.7.4 to 1.8.0
• date and finalize the R1-8-0 release notes
• update README release status
• document the supported and qualified detector matrix
• record the R1-7-4..7c0fbd8 feature ledger:
  • 29 commits
  • 14 merged pull requests, fix: make rolling accumulation bounded and exact #51 through feat: add TPX3 two-quad 4x2 mask support #64
• clarify that established TPX3 single-chip and 2×2 quad rotation/mirror support remains unchanged
• scope the new TPX3 two-quad 4×2 coordinate-dependent mask/BPC/difference/export mapping to:
  • detector orientation UP
  • two distinct 41... quad-board IDs
• document that the different single-board 84... SpidrTurbo mapping fails closed
• defer non-UP eight-chip mapping, SpidrTurbo mapping, generic geometry/Timepix4, and expanded per-pixel editing/observability

Qualification boundary

R1-8-0 is software- and emulator-qualified. It makes no new physical-detector qualification claim, and physical testing is not a release gate.

Final emulator smoke testing confirmed:

• driver version 1.8.0 reported by the IOC
• successful single-chip TPX3 acquisition
• image accumulation and histogram display operation
• successful TPX3 quad and MPX3 quad acquisitions
• previously qualified TPX3 two-quad 1024×512 mask and PixelConfig workflow

Validation

• clean full IOC build
• 358/358 deterministic tests with the default build
• 358/358 tests under AddressSanitizer
• 358/358 tests under UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer
• 13 implemented coordinate-map cases passed
