Wastes some space, but worth it(?). Only tested on macOS (26).

I first tried it as a tab, but that didn't work properly imho

Just tested on Windows and Linux, works as intended.

So, now it's just a matter of UI, is this the best option? if not, what are the alternatives?

Should this be a setting? or do we assume this is something everybody wants?

If I don't get any feedback by the end of the day it will be merged as-is.

I would add a row with a label and a dropdown list as we use for the color mode (RGB, HSL...) and placed right under the color wheel area:

  • none (hidden)
  • wheel
  • rectangle (not implemented yet, but could be an option in the future...)

Will need to think about the ui, the hard part (the wheel) is done.

Adding 'Wheel' to the tabs would be better in regards to space (similar to affinity), like my first implemetation:

I assume you prefer the way it's done in Inkscape?

What if we do this:

Also added "color map", like in Inkscape. Adding these widgets revealed several problems with the parent color widget, working on it.

The new "button" will be replaced with a drop down like in Inkscape where you select what you want to see (not done yet).

Will finish the rest tomorrow.

Yes, I would probably like better the option to switch between "graphical color pickers" including none where it is disabled

Finally done, had to clean up the old color settings widget.

Also added independent wheel/map settings for:

  • Main color widget
  • Dialog color widgets
  • Popup fill/stroke color widgets
  • Popup background color widget
