Imo, this PR needs a bit of re-work. The actual docs changes need to go in the plugin repo to be permanently added, but due to the amount of comments and the limitations of this doc page, my preference would be to hold off on merging this PR until these comments (or some of these) are addressed in the plugin repo, then propagated here after release (I personally see no problem doing a patch release that just has documentation updates).
But let me know if you have a differing opinion.
