To publish

Per ADR 0007 the signed annotated tag is the publication boundary. Review and adjust the version if needed, then:

git switch main && git pull --ff-only
# bump any in-repo version metadata first, if this repository has it
git tag -s v2.1.0 -m v2.1.0
git push origin v2.1.0

Updated automatically on every push to the default branch; closing this issue without tagging skips the release.

Published as v2.0.1, not the proposed v2.1.0: https://github.com/z-shell/zi/releases/tag/v2.0.1

The minor bump came from two feat commits, feat(ci): apply the ADR-0022 branch shape check and issue link (#490) and feat(release): automate approved milestone publication (#470). Both change CI workflows and release tooling rather than the shell code consumers source. Zi is a Git-consumed source repository, so the consumed surface in this range carries fixes only and a patch release is the accurate description. The reasoning is recorded in the annotated tag.

The tag is signed and verified, targets 86758198344052d60b25f454cd3b64269a8ef2ea, and scripts/verify-release-tag.zsh passes against it.

One thing to note for the next proposal: the Release workflow failed on this tag because the publish job runs the verifier under Zsh without installing it, so it exited 127 before verifying anything. That was the workflow's first ever execution, since it reached main only with the #494 promotion. The release was published manually after running the verifier locally, and the workflow fix is in #497.
