A scheduled run was recorded as succeeded as soon as its prompt was dispatched, so a turn the provider rejected (for example a usage limit) still showed succeeded. A dispatched run now stays 'running' and the schedule moves on as before. The service finds the run by the message id it stamps, then follows its run id (which survives a steering restart), and records the first terminal outcome: 'succeeded' when the turn completes, or 'failed' with the provider's error when it fails, is interrupted or is cancelled. A failed dispatch is still recorded as failed right away. A task whose previous turn is still running is no longer held back by the due-task poll, so the schedule keeps its current cadence. A run is now counted in the same write that reserves it, so a restart during dispatch or during the turn no longer counts it twice. Deleting a task drops its tracked run. Pending runs are tracked in memory; a server restart records them as interrupted, as before. Fixes pingdotgg#17889
ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This change substantially alters scheduled-run lifecycle handling across event tracking, persistence, polling, restart recovery, webhook reporting, and the UI. The behavior is well tested and targeted, but the cross-cutting production impact merits human review. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |
… it lands first When a scheduled run's turn ended before its dispatch was recorded, the outcome was already stored as succeeded or failed, but runNow still returned the dispatch view with status 'running' and no error. runNow now re-reads the task after a successful dispatch and returns the stored row when it belongs to this run, so an outcome that already landed, with its error, is what the caller sees. A rejected dispatch still returns 'failed' directly. runTask itself keeps reporting the dispatch, so the webhook delivery log does not record a failed turn as a run that failed to start.

A dispatched scheduled run now stays 'running' until its turn ends, and the thread automations panel disabled Run now for that whole time while Settings still allowed it. A maintainer asked on the PR whether the longer block was intended or whether the existing manual-run behavior could be kept. The panel now enables Run now like Settings and mobile do: only a missing permission or an action already in progress disables it. The running status dot stays. A Run now while the previous turn is still running dispatches another run, as before this change.

…tivated The listener that records scheduled run outcomes was parked until server activation. Routes already serve before activation, so a Run now could dispatch a run whose turn ended before the listener subscribed. The domain-event stream is a live tail from its subscription cursor, so that outcome was never seen and the task stayed 'running' until its next run or a restart. The listener now starts while the service builds, before any route or the scheduler can dispatch. It keeps the live tail rather than the stored-event stream, which would replay the whole event history on every boot.
